The following message was preached on television
by Pastor Robert Mazur in September of 1997, for the
explicit purpose of warning viewers of the great apostasy
infiltrating the Church today...
Jesus Christ was Anointed with the Holy Spirit
"That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout
all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism
which John preached; How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing
good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil;
for God was with Him". Here, in Acts 10:37-38, we see
the Word of God referring to the Person of our Lord
Jesus Christ. The Scriptures tell us that Jesus of Nazareth
was anointed with the Holy Ghost and with Power. The
reason I refer to this particular scripture is because
today there is a great deal being said about the anointing.
There's a lot that needs to be understood by the Body
of Christ in regard to it. I want to try and cover the
elementary, basic truth in regard to this anointing.
There are many people going around claiming that they
have this unction and are allowing these claims to be
directed to their own person in order to elevate themselves
to some special status in the Church of Jesus Christ.
We see that our Lord was anointed with the Holy Ghost
and with Power and He went around doing good.
All Believers Have the Anointing
I John, chapter 2:26-27, John writes to the Church:
"These things have I written unto you concerning them
that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received
of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man
teach you; but as the same anointing teacheth you of
all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as
it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." I'm giving
you scriptural reference to the teaching of the Holy
Spirit, not what I think or feel, or what has been revealed
to me as a person. This is basic Biblical theology and
doctrine on the Holy Spirit. We need to return to the
simple Truths of the Word of God—they are so profound
and needed in this very day. John states that we the
Church, we the believers, have an anointing. In fact,
he says in verse 20 of the same chapter: "But ye have
an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things."
The words unction and anointing are the same Greek word.
It speaks of a pouring or smearing on or an application
of oil and, of course, that speaks of the unction or
the anointing of the Holy Spirit. I believe with all
of my heart in the anointing of the Holy Spirit, but
I do not believe that God in all His Sovereignty and
in His Power desires to have people be so special that
only certain individuals in the Church of Jesus Christ
are anointed ones and others should come flocking and
running to them as if they were something unique amongst
believers, as if they have a so-called anointing that
no others have. In Acts 10:37-38 we see that Jesus Christ
was anointed of God with the Holy Spirit and we also
see in I John 2:26-27 that we, the believers, have an
unction.
With that I'd like to turn your attention to II Corinthians
1:21: "Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ,
and hath anointed us, is God". We see that John the
Beloved Apostle said that we as believers have an unction
and now we see that Apostle Paul says the same thing.
Some Leaders Claim a Special Anointing
I do not see the writings of Paul and John, or any
other Scriptures, pointing to individuals that are special
or select in the Body of Christ. Yet, this is the way
things are moving in the so-called renewal today. Individuals
are being singled out, leaders are taking it upon themselves
to say that they have this so-called anointing, this
great special unction, and it's putting them forth as
some supermen in the Church of Jesus Christ. This is
wrong doctrine, wrong theology. If you are a believer,
if you are a born-again Saint, if you are a child of
God, if you've been saved by the Grace of God, you have
an unction. This is what John said and this is what
Paul taught: you have an unction, you have an anointing
from God. It's on you.
The Oil is for the Priesthood
The anointing oil was poured upon the Holy Priesthood
in the Old Testament. I'd like to bring your attention
to I Peter, chapter 2 to hear what the Apostle Peter
said in verse 9: "But ye are a chosen generation, a
royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath
called you out of darkness into his marvelous light".
We see clearly the Apostle Peter said that we are a
Royal Priesthood. We as believers, saved by the Grace
of God, are priests unto the Lord. A priesthood is made
up of those who have been set aside to be holy, to be
separate from darkness and the world, and to serve God.
Let's go to the Old Testament and take a look at the
very basic teaching of the anointing oil, which is a
foreshadow or a type of the unction of the Holy Spirit.
The Word of God lays out hard, fast principles here
on the anointing oil. Remember, we have to take the
whole Word of God, the old and the new, we have to put
it together to rightly divide the Word of Truth. (Ref.
II Timothy 2:15) There's a lot being taught and written
about the unction, the anointing of God. The majority
of what's going on in our land today is misapplied and
misused. It's not correct and does not have scriptural
validity or credibility. We need to know what we believe,
what's written in the Word of God. We have to know what
we trust. It must be written and shown to us in God's
Word. If it's not there or if it contradicts God's Word,
we should not accept it.
We at Living Word Church have spent much time over
the years studying the building and establishment of
the Tabernacle in the desert. In Exodus 25:2, God instructed
Moses: "Speak unto the children of Israel, that they
bring me an offering". He went on to tell him what the
offerings ought to be. Then, in verses 8 and 9 He said:
"And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell
among them. According to all that I shew thee, after
the pattern of the tabernacle, and all the instruments
thereof, even so shall ye make it." God said, in effect,
"Listen Moses, I'm going to give you instructions, I'm
showing you a pattern, I'm giving you My will, My desire.
I want all the instruments, the priesthood, everything
to be built exactly in the pattern I am showing you.
I am not going to allow you, Moses, to come up with
your own creative ideas. You cannot innovate, but must
do exactly as I show you." One of the things He explained
to Moses was how to prepare the anointing oil for the
priesthood—the consecrated, separated men set aside
for the work of the ministry in the Tabernacle area.
The oil was for the priesthood, not just one or two
priests or some special ones, but all of them. This
is very important because there are some individuals
that want you to believe the anointing is just for special
people, but all the priesthood of God is special.
If you are saved today, if you have received Jesus
Christ as your Lord and Master, you have become one
of the children of God. You can cry "Abba Father", and
you are now a priest of God. That is the teaching of
the Word of God, nothing more or less. You are a part
of that Royal Priesthood, you are a priest unto God.
That's God's teaching. The oil is applied to the entire
priesthood.
The Anointing Oil is Holy
Let's go on and read Exodus 30:22-24: "Moreover the
Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Take thou also unto thee
principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels,
and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred
and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred
and fifty shekels, And of cassia five hundred shekels,
after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive
an hin". God gave Moses the exact formula or recipe,
if you will, of the anointing oil, and in verse 25 He
says: "And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment,
an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary:
it shall be an holy anointing oil". You'll see in verses
26 through 28 the holy, sanctified vessels and instruments
were to be anointed with the oil. He also said in verse
29: "And thou shalt sanctify them that they may be most
holy; whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy."
Keep in mind that everything the oil was to be applied
to, whether it be the vessels, the instruments or the
priesthood, it was only to be applied to that which
was holy, set aside, consecrated for service. It was
never to be put on that which was unclean, or
that which was unholy. In verse 30 God states: "And
thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate
them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's
office." The oil was not only for the holy vessels.
It was also for the consecrated priesthood, every one
of them, not just Aaron, not just one or two of his
sons, but the whole priesthood. In faith, by Grace,
through the Word of God, through the Power of God, through
the Mercy and Grace of Jesus Christ, you are one of
those priests. That oil is not just for someone to be
elevated and to be a point of interest, or to be launched
into stardom. That's not what it's for. The oil
is for service, service unto God by consecrated, holy
vessels.
In verse 31 God says, "And thou shall speak unto the
children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing
oil unto me throughout your generations." In other words,
this principle, this lesson, this type, this foreshadow
will never change.
The Oil Not to Touch the Unclean
In verse 32: "Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured,
neither shall ye make any other like it..." No substitutes,
no imitations, no counterfeits, no fakery, nothing else
is acceptable, It has to be exactly what God has prescribed,
it has to be this particular oil, it is holy, you can't
make anything else like it, it cannot be poured upon
the flesh, it is holy and shall be holy unto you. He
also says in verse 33: "Whosoever compoundeth any like
it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger shall
even be cut off from his people." There's a judgment
if you make a counterfeit, if you misuse it or if you
try to imitate it. It's got to be the genuine thing.
When we speak of the anointing oil we're speaking on
a very serious subject in God's Word. Again, three warnings:
upon man's flesh you shall not pour it, neither shall
you make any other like it or after the composition
of it, and remember, it is holy and it shall be holy
unto you.
This teaching of the unction of the Holy Spirit is
a very serious, grave, important holy Truth and should
never be treated lightly or with irreverence. It's holy,
He is holy, and it ought to be treated with a holy,
godly consideration in our hearts.
Anointing Oil is a Foreshadow of Pentecost
We see in this Old Testament example a type of Holy
Spirit anointing. What we have here is a picture of
the Pentecostal experience being foreshadowed. Moses
was given the formula for the anointing oil and the
principles regarding its use for the priests and the
holy vessels in the Tabernacle. Keep in mind that the
sanctuary of God, the Tabernacle, was a picture or foreshadow
of Heaven, of the Church, of Jesus Christ, of the believer
and also of the Godhead—meaning the Father, the Son
and the Holy Spirit, three distinct Persons.
Today there is a lot of bragging and emphasis being
placed on the anointing. I thank God for the Holy Spirit
anointing, but I also believe that there is very little
Biblical foundation, credibility or validity in regard
to what is claimed to be the Holy Spirit anointing.
I thank God for the anointing, I thank God that many,
many years ago He showed me clearly, through the Word
of God, the scriptures which I have already showed to
you. The anointing of God is not for any special interest
or promotion of any personality or individual. The anointing
of God is for the whole priesthood, the whole Church.
It is for the Church of God to profit in service to
the Lord. So much of what believers are presented with
today that is labeled as being spiritual and of God,
I believe is unbiblical and inaccurate.
We Are to Judge What We Hear
God teaches us that we must judge that which is presented
to us, even though many today would contradict this
and tell us not to judge anything. They say not to judge,
to put away our theology, our doctrine and to be open
to whatever we can receive. However, the Word of God
clearly commands us, in the New Testament especially,
that we are to judge. In I Corinthians 2:12-15 we are
instructed by Paul: "Now we have received, not the spirit
of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we
might know the things that are freely given to us of
God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which
man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth;
comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural
man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for
they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned. But he that
is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged
of no man."
We are taught, we are instructed by the Word of God
that we are to judge. In the Church at Corinth they
did not judge the sin that was there. Paul made the
following statement in I Corinthians 5:12: "For what
have I to do to judge them also that are without? do
not ye judge them that are within?" He admonished them
for not judging what was taking place in the Church,
he was judging even though he wasn't there. He made
a judgment about the behavior of individuals in that
Church. There was sin there and it had to be judged.
The Church should have been doing this and Paul admonished
them for not doing it.
In I Corinthians 14:29 the Word of God tells us: "Let
the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge."
In other words, when the spiritual gifts are in action,
let them speak, but the others must judge. Everything
must be judged; we have to express godly discernment,
and we can only judge on the basis of what has been
revealed to us by the Word of God. That is the only
truth, the only standard we have for judgment. It must
be in accordance with and must be accepted by the Word
of God. Much is going on today in our land in this so-called
renewal that is not valid according to the Word of God.
The Church must take a stand and judge what's going
on. We hear today from self-made prophets that we shouldn't
judge or be judgmental. The Word of God says that we
must judge all things. Glory to God! It's a safety net
in the Word of God that makes good sense. Worldly people
carry themselves with more sensibility than many Church
people do. Worldly organizations, banks, businesses
and corporations have more sense than the nonsense I
see in the so-called Church today, with so much foolishness
going on.
Let's go back to Exodus 30:32 and bring to remembrance
what is written there: "Upon man's flesh shall it not
be poured..." The holy anointing oil was the foreshadow
or type of the anointing of the Holy Spirit available
to us as believers today. We have an unction, we have
an anointing. Not just your pastor or some so-called
prophets, but we collectively as believers have an unction.
I dread the thought that Christians could allow themselves
to develop personality cults. The anointing isn't for
anyone's special aggrandizement or popularity. You and
I are equal in the eyes of God, no one better than another.
Too many want to be in the forefront or to stand out.
They want to be made into something spiritual, something
greater, holier than thou, looked to in awe. It feeds
the carnal nature of man's pride, it feeds egotism and
leads men in the wrong direction. It will bring a fall
in time—after pride comes the fall.
Oil to be Poured on the Head of the Priest
Remember, "Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured..."
The oil was not to touch or be poured upon the flesh
of the priest. That's very interesting! If you go to
Psalm 133 you have a picture of the oil being applied.
It's a beautiful Psalm and it's tied in with the reality
of how beautiful the unity of the brethren is. Psalm
133 says: "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for
brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the
precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon
the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the
skirts of his garments..." The precious ointment is
the holy oil spoken of in Exodus.
Keep in mind this Psalm was written many years after
God gave the anointing oil prescription or recipe, and
His people were very familiar with it by this time.
The psalmist writes that the precious ointment was poured
upon the head—now what was on the head of the priest?
He had a crown on, a miter. What did it say? "Holiness
unto the Lord"—that's what was engraved on that crown.
And the oil ran down the beard, not the flesh, but the
beard. The holy anointing oil was poured upon the head
of the priest, carefully poured down upon his beard
and then upon the holy garments of the priest. Never
was it poured on his hands or on his feet or on his
face, his flesh or his skin. There's a very clear lesson
in this; the oil is not for the flesh of man. What does
the flesh of man represent? The flesh of man represents
the carnal in the human frame, the human person, that
flesh in which all the carnal nature of the unregenerate
simple man abides. But the oil was for that which was
holy and that oil was to descend upon that which was
holy, not that which was carnal.
The Flesh is to be Crucified, Not Anointed!
In the Old Testament the flesh was to be circumcised;
in the New Testament the flesh is to be crucified—
put down or denied. The flesh is not to be anointed
or exalted. Let's turn to what Paul wrote in Galatians
2:20: "I am crucified with Christ..." and in Galatians
5:24: "And they that are Christ's have crucified the
flesh with the affections and lusts." Our lusts and
our affections, that flesh part of man, is to be crucified,
mortified, put to death by the Grace and Power of God.
We are born again, but that old sin nature is to be
crucified, not anointed. Paul was a master of the Word
of God. He was a great teacher who was taught at the
feet of Gamaliel, a great and famous teacher at that
time. Paul was a man taught and instructed of God, and
he put the old together with the new. Here's what he
said in chapter 6 of I Corinthians, verses 9-11: "Know
ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom
of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters,
nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves
with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards,
nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom
of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed,
but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name
of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." That
old sin nature, that flesh, is put to the cross, and
we are sanctified, set apart, and washed by the Holy
Spirit.
Paul stated in Philippians 3:3: "For we are the circumcision,
which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ
Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh." Paul says
that we have no confidence, no trust in the flesh. We
don't trust the flesh. The oil is not to be poured on
the flesh for that is the very place of the carnal,
sinful nature of man, with all its lusts, corruption
and darkness. Paul says we have no confidence in the
flesh—no faith, trust or belief in the flesh. You
cannot trust the flesh, that's what the Holy Spirit
told the Church. God had said: "Upon man's flesh shall
it not be poured." You don't put the oil on that carnal
nature, the fleshy part of man. No carnal use of the
oil and no false composition of it. Here we have the
Old Testament type and truth, which is unchangeable,
about the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Just with these
few scriptures we have learned a great deal about it!
This is basic, elementary doctrine of the anointing
of the Holy Spirit. It is for the whole priesthood,
not for certain individuals. There can be no light treatment
or carnal use of the anointing oil. "This shall be an
holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations."
(Exodus 30:31)—an unchangeable truth, hard and fast.
Those who were to be familiar with the anointing oil
and to have it applied to them, were to be holy and
separate and were commanded to be clean and untouched
by the filth of the world. And their whole purpose was
for service unto God. That was it! The oil was only
for the holy and the separate, not the unclean.
Deceit and Deception
Yet, there are people who claim to have this anointing
that spew out lies, exaggerate, give untruths and teach
false, heretical doctrine. When the Lord said in the
last days there was going to be a pouring out of deceit
and deception, don't you think people are going to claim
what is not true? How are we going to be able to judge
if we're not familiar with the Word of God? We must
judge all things, my friend! There is a false, counterfeit
anointing sweeping the world. I believe in due time,
God is going to bring judgment against it. When? I don't
know.
Unclean vessels, people taking what they call the
anointing, displaying it and treating it like it's trivial,
as an instrument of some mystical power, treating it
with showmanship, displaying it in a way that's blasphemous
to God—this is heretical and terrible. Multitudes
are sitting, watching and listening with their mouths
open and going, Ahhh! Moved! Delighted, titillated and
excited! Men are allowing themselves to be elevated
to some superhuman status and stardom in Christianity,
claiming this false counterfeit anointing. It's in our
community. They don't even know what the anointing is
and yet they claim it for themselves.
The anointing of God is for all, every believer, for
service. It is never to elevate and to bring one into
braggadocio, if you know what I'm saying! It brings
someone to service and godly humility, never to have
a spirit of showmanship and braggadocio. But today,
the Holy Spirit anointing is being treated or referred
to as a thing. It's treated as trivial, it's handled
and talked about as common and base.
Displays of manifestations reduce men and women to
acting like base, animalistic creatures, stripped of
all dignity and respect. The anointing is spoken of
by some in a wrong spirit, throwing drunken parties
where people lose all sense, honor, dignity and respect.
At the same time, the church is being quiet and not
saying, "WRONG!" Why, even the pulpits are afraid to
speak against it because they're afraid of losing their
position, or afraid of getting into something that's
"politically incorrect", or they're afraid of losing
people from their churches. They're scared to death,
because names are embracing and endorsing this nonsense,
and they don't want to be a point of controversy. But
we're speaking up and we're making a statement: "ERROR!",
"WRONG!", "HERESY!" Wrong spirit, not Biblical, not
Spiritually or Biblically sound or credible, not Scripturally
valid–ERROR!–WRONG!–TILT!–HERESY! It's bringing
forth all the carnal nature of man's flesh. What I see
is a fleshly display, carnal behavior that's unbelievable.
At the very time that this program (telecast) is being
aired in the community, there are meetings endorsing
this foolishness that I am speaking of. And, there are
some that are standing back and saying, "Well, I don't
know if it's God or not." If you don't know that it's
not God, you don't know the Word of God. You are not
equipped to be a pastor, a teacher or a guide, a light
in the house of God. Shame on you for not crying out,
"Error!", "Wrong!" I believe with all the godly discernment
and knowledge and ability that God has given me these
last 27 years, that everything I see about this so-called
anointing opposes God's Word.
A Great Apostasy
It's the greatest fake, the greatest counterfeit,
lie and deception that we've seen in the past century,
and it is now come upon us! I believe that the sincere,
the true servants of God need to be speaking up and
calling it for what it is. I believe that the floodgates
of the great apostasy have opened up. I believe we are
now living in a time when we are seeing the beginning
of the greatest apostasy the Church has ever experienced,
the one Paul speaks about in II Thessalonians, and that
we see so evident in the Word of God. For many are declaring
a great revival today, but the Word of God says over
and over again that in the last days there will be an
outpouring of error and seducing spirits. The people
are going to be seduced, they will be drawn into error
and confusion. There's going to be a great falling away,
a great apostasy from the Truth. And I believe we are
about to see the entrance of what is called, in the
Word of God, the false prophet, who is going to prepare
the way for the antichrist, just as John the Baptist
prepared the way for Jesus Christ. These two, the prophet
and the antichrist, are two persons of the unholy trinity:
the false prophet, the antichrist and Satan. Satan wants
to counterfeit and copy everything that God does. He's
a spirit of confusion, he's a liar and he's headed for
the pit.
I believe with all my heart we're seeing and witnessing
a false anointing, elevating men and thrusting them
into stardom instead of into humility and service. The
worldly church is embracing fleshly emotions and soulish
acts as never before, instead of embracing the Spirit
of God. Those on the forefront are typically "mega churches"
and "television churches".
We Want to Lead You to Salvation
I'm not against the use of TV if the Word of God is
preached and taught. We preach on TV but we don't display
a show-type of church service. We haven't yielded to
the spirit of the world or tried to present the spectacular
or put on a charade, playing the role of hypocrites.
We do not pretend to be something that we're not. And,
by the way, we're not here bleeding you and pumping
you for money either. We don't ask you for a dime; we
never have, in all our years on television. We want
you to receive the Word of Truth and we want you to
be safe from confusion. We want you to embrace the Truth
of the Lord Jesus Christ. We want you to be saved and
live a holy, godly life and we want you to be headed
to glory, to Heaven through the Grace of God.
We all have an appointment with death and we have
to be prepared! We want to be caught up in separation,
holiness and godliness, to be ready for that appointed
moment we have with God, when we come before Him. There
Jesus Christ can claim us and say that we are His and
we belong to Him! God forbid that we would be walking
in error, heresy, foolishness and pretense; but we should
rather walk in sincerity, sanctification and truth.
The Church is Being Marketed
Look at the entertainment, the personalities, the
psychology, the fakery, the television production of
church services today. Observe the secular methods of
marketing, to promote the church for monies today. Look
what's going on! The true anointing simply does not
rest on flesh or the carnal nature of men. Without exception
the anointing rests on the Church, the whole Church,
all believers, all who are members of the Royal Priesthood
who have been saved by the Grace of God. The anointing
of God brings us all to a place of godly service, acceptable
unto Him. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is evidence
of the fact that you have been sanctified, set apart
for service. It enables you and gives you the right
to serve the Lord in holiness and godliness.
The anointing is not for an unclean person; it's not
for the world. Why, this so-called anointing that I
hear about, and that I'm reading about and witnessing
with my eyes, includes even unsaved, ungodly persons.
Who is experiencing this so-called anointing? Even reporters,
people who write columns, who are not Christians! People
who also look to Buddha, to Mohammed, and give Islam
credibility. They give all the gurus credibility and
they say Jesus Christ is one too, even they experience
this so-called anointing. The anointing is not for the
ungodly, the unclean or the lost. The anointing is for
God's people, period! Nobody else! I believe in the
anointing. I've experienced it. All Christians have
experienced it.
The Power of the Holy Spirit Changes People's Lives
I thank God for the power of the Holy Spirit that
changes people's lives, sets them on a new course of
life, sets them on the road of holiness and godliness.
I thank God for that. He changes us and makes us something
beautiful and nice instead of ugly and mean and nasty.
I've watched the Spirit of God, the anointing of God,
turn people's lives completely around and change them
totally; make them contributing citizens in our community.
They are mothers and fathers; family people; loving
people; people who were once violent and unclean, now
non-violent, productive citizens of our community; godly
people; wonderful people. I've watched the anointing
of the Holy Spirit touch people's lives and fill them
to such a place where they have experienced personal
miracles. Their lives have been healed psychologically,
physically, wholly, completely; lives turned totally
around for the glory of God, and not for some fleeting
moment, or for a week or two. I'm speaking about years
and years—lifetimes. I've watched and I've seen it.
I've experienced it myself. I thank God for that.
There are many senior citizens now in our Church whose
own children were very troubled, living a life of sin
and crime. Then the Grace of God came into those children's
lives and they were changed, they've been married and
have beautiful families. The parents have seen the example
in their grown children and now they too are glorifying
God. We have three and four generations in this Church
already. It's wonderful!
I can remember in the early beginning of this Work,
especially when we were praying for and working with
people, and their lives were being changed by the Power
of God. God spoke to my heart clearly. He said, "Don't
you get in the limelight; you stay out of the limelight,
step aside. Let Me have My way and remember: don't you
teach the people that this anointing is just for you
but it's for the whole Body of Christ." How many are
willing not to capitalize and try to captivate or capture
this power, this thing for themselves? If they do, it's
not the genuine anointing of the Holy Spirit. That's
why there's so much error today; that's why there's
so much false doctrine; that's why there's so much confusion;
that's why there are so many embarrassing situations
that come up, so many shams, so many disgraces. Take
a look at all these big personalities. So many have
fallen.
What happened to the local church where the pastor
and the congregation are working with the anointing
of God for His glory? What's happened to that? We've
gotten so far from the Truth. Don't look up to the special
"anointed ones" in awe and worship—no way! We're all
equal, we're all the same in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We all have that unction, believe it! And Praise God!
You let that third Person of the Holy Trinity sanctify
you and cleanse you and crucify the flesh in your life.
Let Him set you aside for service and let Him have full
advantage of your life to the glory of Jesus Christ.
I say that with a great Amen!
Oh God, help us today to turn from this nonsense!
Let us judge it; let us call it counterfeit; let us
call it heresy; let us see the simple Truth and embrace
the Truth for ourselves, instead of this foolishness
covering and crossing our land today. I pray in Christ's
Name. Amen.
