The Bible compares the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ to a natural human body. It states, "For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ." (1 Corinthians 12:12) Just as the human body has many members, each performing a specific function, so it is with each and every member in the body of Christ. Each has a specific and important job to do to help the whole body function as it should. There aren't just a couple of members, but many. Here are some of the jobs in the Church that serve to strengthen, edify, and enable growth in the fullness of Christ that the Lord might be glorified.
